The company

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.

We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

The team

Our performance marketing team is three people located in London and Berlin building an in-house growth engine for the German market. You'll report to the Team Lead Performance Marketing and work day-to-day alongside colleagues owning Paid Search and Paid Social. Your focus: everything beyond those two channels, diversifying into areas where we're still early and the upside is real. You'll be a key contributor to our channel diversification.

You'll also be supported by our Commercial Strategy team, who partner with you on test design, attribution, and performance measurement.

How we work

We're a cross-location team, so we're deliberate about staying connected: weekly performance syncs to challenge each other's thinking, monthly cross-channel jour fixes with the wider marketing team so nothing happens in a silo, and regular company-wide learning sessions where we share what worked and what didn't.

Decision-making is low-bureaucracy, high-rigour. If you can make the case with numbers (in a Google Doc, on Slack, in a meeting) you have the green light to move.

The role

We're looking for a (mid-level) performance marketer who will own and scale a diverse channel mix for the German market. Reporting to the Team Lead Performance Marketing, you'll build new online channels from scratch such as Native Ads, Reddit Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, and manage direct placements with publishers relevant to our target audience. On top of that, you'll drive conversion rate optimisation on our paid landing pages, turning traffic into leads.

This is a role for someone who thrives on building things that don't yet exist. You're analytical, structured, and hands-on – and you bring the commercial instinct to know which bets are worth scaling.

What you can drive at iwoca:

New Online Channels

  • Explore, test, and establish new paid channels such as Native Ads (e.g. Outbrain, Taboola), Reddit Ads, and LinkedIn Ads.

  • Set up each channel from scratch - KPIs, measurement infrastructure, budget - and own performance end-to-end

  • Experiment aggressively, measure honestly: we scale what proves itself and stop what doesn't.

  • Act as project lead for each new channel launch - coordinating across design, compliance, and copywriting from initial ideation through to long-term rollout and ongoing optimisation.

Direct Placements

  • Build a direct placement network from scratch: Identify, pitch, and partner with publishers who reach German SME decision-makers

  • Own the commercial relationships end-to-end: negotiation, execution, and performance accountability

Conversion Rate Optimisation

  • Own the conversion journey on our paid landing pages, run the experimentation roadmap that turns traffic into leads.

  • Test relentlessly: if a variant doesn't win, learn and move on - the roadmap is never short of ideas to try next

  • Use tools like Google Analytics, heatmapping tools, and A/B testing platforms to support and confirm your findings.

  • Work with design and copywriter to ship page iterations fast, informed by data rather than opinion.

Processes and Optimization

  • Build lean, scalable processes to manage and optimise the channels you establish, so performance stays high without everything relying on manual effort.

  • Explore and integrate AI tools into your workflows to work faster and smarter, from ideation to execution.

  • Balance efficiency with rigour: we automate where it makes sense, but we never skip the critical thinking. You question outputs, validate results, and own the quality of what goes live.

The requirements

Essential:

  • Demonstrates curiosity to use and learn more about AI tools. You’ll already be comfortable using AI tools in practical ways to help solve problems, increase productivity and improve quality of work, showing good judgement about when to use them and the ability to explain the reasoning behind that use.

  • 3–5 years of hands-on performance marketing experience beyond Paid Search and Paid Social, with a track record of building and scaling at least one channel from an early stage (e.g. Native Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Reddit Ads, direct placements, programmatic, or affiliate).

  • Strong analytical skills – you're comfortable turning campaign data into clear decisions and recommendations.

  • Experience designing and running A/B tests, with a solid understanding of test design and statistical significance.

  • A builder mindset: you're energised by setting up channels and measurement frameworks where little or nothing exists yet.

  • Fluent in German (required – essential for the DE market, publisher relationships, and creative work).

  • Fluent in English (company working language).

Bonus:

  • Experience in fintech, lending, or another regulated industry.

  • Familiarity with offline attribution modelling.

  • Experience working with or managing external media partners and publishers.

The salary

We expect to pay from £45,000 – £65,000 for this role. But, we're open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
