As part of the Guest Services team at Mt Hutt, the Sales & reservations Agent role plays a vital part in delivering excellent customer service by handling guest enquiries via phone, email, and other written communication channels. Based at the ski field, with occasional shifts in the Methven Town Office, your main responsibility is to ensure all guest interactions are clear, accurate, and helpful. You’ll manage a variety of tasks, including assisting with Point of Sale (POS) transactions and checking lift passes outdoors when needed. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across different areas are key to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond to guest enquiries through phone, email, and written communication, ensuring information is clear, accurate, and tailored to their needs
• Assist guests with lift passes, rentals, lessons, and other services, providing comprehensive and friendly support
• Manage indoor customer service duties, including processing sales for lift passes, rentals, and lessons using the Point of Sale (POS) system
• Support the team with other indoor operations as needed, including balancing cash and managing guest enquiries
• Assist with outdoor duties such as checking lift passes at the lift stations, ensuring guests are correctly ticketed and offering assistance where necessary
• Handle guest enquiries professionally, ensuring all details are covered and follow-up is completed when needed
• Collaborate with the wider Guest Services team to ensure seamless operations both indoors and outdoors
• Work in both the ski field and the Methven office depending on operational needs and team requirements
About You
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an exceptional eye for detail
• Previous experience in customer service or communications roles, with a proven ability to handle guest enquiries efficiently
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with a willingness to assist with tasks like POS operations and ticket checking
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks, including handling written guest communications while supporting in-person operations
• Familiarity with the ski industry and our range of services (or a willingness to learn)
• Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems or similar technology is a plus
• Positive, friendly attitude with a genuine passion for helping guests and providing a memorable experience
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
