As part of the Guest Services team at Mt Hutt, the Schools & Groups Coordinator is a key role in delivering exceptional service to schools and groups visiting the mountain. This role involves managing the entire booking process, from initial enquiry through to post-visit account reconciliation, ensuring that each group receives a smooth and memorable experience.
You’ll manage a variety of tasks, including assisting with Point of Sale (POS) transactions and checking lift passes outdoors when needed. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across different areas are key to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Process bookings for school and non-profit groups, from initial enquiry to visit details, hosting on the day, and final account reconciliation
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Snowsports, Rentals, Food and Beverage, Transport, Patrol, Finance, and Administration, to deliver a world-class guest experience
• Build and maintain strong relationships with group coordinators and guests
• Ensure accurate and timely account reconciliation prior to group visits
• Manage group databases and account information efficiently
About You
• At least 2 years of front-line customer service experience with a proven commitment to guest service excellence
• Previous experience managing client bookings and accounts at scale
• Strong ability to follow procedures and effectively manage large amounts of information
• Detail oriented with experience using Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel on a daily basis
• A passion for learning about the ski industry, with full training provided
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying alpine weather conditions
• Calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt to changing situations
• Strong social and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of NZ school systems and health and safety requirements (desired but not essential)

• Flexibility to assist with other departments such as Rentals, Food & Beverage, and Lifts as needed
• Willingness to work in a variety of weather conditions and adapt to operational needs
• Physically fit and ready to spend time on your feet, both indoors and outdoors
• A strong team player who communicates effectively and approaches all tasks with a positive attitude
