What you’ll do:

"The Hardware Engineer – Product Development & Technical Documentation is responsible for the design, development, validation, and sustaining of electronic hardware solutions for EMEA life Safety and power management products. The role combines hardware engineering expertise with ownership of technical documentation deliverables, ensuring that all product-related manuals, labels, technical drawings, and engineering documentation are accurate, compliant, and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
The position will support modernization of existing products and development of new products while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, and Eaton documentation processes. "    

"Hardware Engineering

Conceptualize, specify, design, develop, and validate electronic hardware and PCBA solutions for protection, control, monitoring, and Life Safety products.
Develop robust hardware architectures aligned with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and product specifications.
Perform analog and digital circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and hardware integration activities.
Conduct simulations, prototyping, laboratory testing, EMC/EMI validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Support product industrialization activities, manufacturing readiness reviews, and production ramp-up.
Resolve hardware design issues while optimizing performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, DFSS activities, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Technical Documentation

Own the creation, maintenance, and release of product technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain user manuals, installation guides, maintenance instructions, service documentation, and technical specifications.
Create and maintain product labels, packaging labels, engineering drawings, and technical illustrations.
Generate and manage engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, design reports, validation reports, test procedures, and test reports.
Ensure documentation accuracy within PLM systems and maintain revision control according to company processes.
Coordinate with engineering teams, manufacturing teams, and external suppliers to ensure documentation consistency and compliance.
Support regulatory and certification activities by providing required technical documentation.
Drive continuous improvement of documentation templates, processes, and best practices.

Cross-Functional Activities

Support project planning and execution activities.
Prepare technical presentations, progress reports, and design reviews.
Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, and other applicable product standards and directives.
Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams.
Promote engineering excellence and knowledge sharing across the organization."    

Qualifications:

"Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering,  or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.

Skills:

Experience in industrial electronics, embedded hardware, control systems, or Life Safety products.
Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for engineering products.
Experience supporting product certification, validation, and industrialization activities.

PCB design principles and manufacturing processes.
Embedded microprocessor and microcontroller based systems.
Electronic circuit simulation and analysis.
EMC/EMI design and testing.
Hardware debugging and laboratory validation techniques.

SolidWorks Composer
Adobe Illustrator

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology.
Knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC, UL, and product safety requirements.
Proficiency in hardware design tools such as Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent."
