MANUAL seeks a Head of Tax in London, based at London Bridge, to own and implement the group tax strategy, oversee corporate structure and tax risk, and provide timely tax advice to stakeholders, reporting to the VP Finance. The role requires a qualified tax professional with 8+ years in direct tax planning and advisory, solid corporate and international tax knowledge, and the ability to drive initiatives independently while collaborating across functions and overseas offices. You will develop tax policies and controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and nurture relationships with tax authorities. This role will report directly to the VP, Finance. The candidate will be responsible for tax defining and implementing our tax strategy, maximising opportunities and minimising risks and implementing. The role is based in London Bridge, with at least 3 days a week to be worked from the office.
Own the development and implementation of group tax strategies
Oversee corporate structure, identify and mitigate tax risks
Manage the provision of accurate and timely tax advice to stakeholders
Develop and implement robust tax policies and internal control frameworks
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing requirements
Advise management on the tax implications of direct tax legislation
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with relevant tax authorities
Foster collaborative relationships with functional business heads, overseas offices, tax offices, and professional advisory firms to ensure a cohesive approach to tax management
Qualified Tax Professional having trained ideally with a large recognised accounting firm
Experience in a similar roles, with in-house experience an advantage
8+ years experience with direct responsibility for tax planning, advisory, and structuring
Have extensive technical knowledge of corporate and international tax
Exceptional analytical skills and a high attention to detail
Ability to operate in a highly independent role with a willingness to drive things forward without clear direction
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence people of all professional backgrounds and levels of seniority
