Summerset is seeking a casual Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant for the Richmond village in TAS to keep resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas and laundry clean, while caring for clothing and linens with care and supporting infection control. You’ll help create a homely, safe environment and build warm relationships with residents and their whānau as part of a welcoming village team. Ideal candidates have housekeeping experience (healthcare or hospitality preferred), are physically fit, attentive to detail, and flexible to pick up shifts on short notice, including weekends with penal rates. Training is provided and there are opportunities for permanent or part‑time roles. A Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner.
You're a quiet hero behind the scenes, keeping our village fresh, homely, and dignified for the people who live here.

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant on a casual basis to join our warm and welcoming Richmond village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a Casual role, working on a as and when needs basis.

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary, full training provided)
• Available to pick up shifts often with little notice and be flexible with days and hours
