Komatsu Mining Technology Solutions is looking for a hands-on Human Resources Coordinator to support recruitment and HR administration. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Milton, California. The company operates within the broader Komatsu group, a world leader in heavy equipment and mining technology, with a track record of reliability and global reach. If you enjoy shaping the experience of candidates and colleagues alike while keeping HR processes running smoothly, this could be a great fit.

The HR Coordinator will own the recruitment process end to end and provide steady HR administration support, helping to make hiring decisions faster and more accurate while ensuring data stays accurate and compliant. It’s a role that sits at the crossroads of people and process, requiring clear communication with hiring managers, candidates, and internal teams to keep everything moving on schedule. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys turning people-focused work into measurable outcomes.

The role is onsite in Milton and involves travel up to 10%. If you like working closely with a team, coordinating multiple activities at once, and driving a smooth journey from candidate to new hire, you’ll likely feel at home in this position.

What the day-to-day looks like

In practice, you’ll guide the full recruitment cycle from requisition approval to offer acceptance, which includes drafting and posting job ads, screening applicants, and creating shortlists for hiring managers. You’ll coordinate interviews and assessments, help manage communications with stakeholders, and prepare offers while ensuring pre-employment checks align with company policy and legal requirements. You’ll also keep detailed recruitment records and track candidate outcomes to provide transparent updates throughout the process.

On the onboarding side, you’ll help new hires transition smoothly from candidate to employee. That means preparing employment documents, assisting with system setup before start dates, and coordinating with managers and internal teams to deliver a positive first impression for newcomers.

Beyond recruitment and onboarding, you’ll handle general HR administration, maintaining accurate employee records, supporting compliance efforts, assisting with audits, and answering routine inquiries from employees and managers. You’ll look for opportunities to improve processes, ensuring every activity aligns with laws, policies, and internal procedures, while also contributing to HR projects as needed.

The must-haves

  • A tertiary qualification in HR or Business Administration, or a clear willingness to pursue one
  • Experience coordinating recruitment and/or serving as an HR Generalist
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and how it affects recruitment and HR tasks
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to run multiple recruitment processes concurrently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and a firm commitment to confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and an HR information system, ideally including Success Factors
  • Collaborative approach with stakeholders and a focus on delivering a positive candidate and employee experience

Where and how you’ll work

The role is based on site in Milton, California, and requires travel up to 10% as part of occasional onboarding, interviews, or team collaboration. The position is full-time and intended for someone who can integrate with the local team and support HR operations with practical, hands-on effort.

Tips to help you stand out

Put your end-to-end recruitment experience up front on your resume, showing you’ve managed the entire cycle from requisition to hire and can move quickly through interviews, shortlisting, and offers.

Demonstrate how you handle multiple recruitment processes at once and call out any HRIS experience, especially if you’ve worked in a system like Success Factors and used standard office tools to keep things organized.

Bring concrete onboarding examples to the table, including how you prepared documents and set up systems, and share how you’ve created a positive experience for new hires from day one.

Have a specific question ready for the interviewer about how Komatsu measures recruitment success and onboarding quality, and ask how they track candidate outcomes and provide updates to hiring managers throughout the process.
