First, front-load your resume with what proves you’re eligible to work in Australia, that you have a current driver’s licence and vehicle, and your MyGovID status. These basics matter for this onsite, field-facing role and should sit at the top so recruiters see them immediately.
Show how you’ve proven the must-have skills by pointing to concrete examples. Think about times when you built relationships with employers, ran outreach visits or cold calls, and turned conversations into opportunities. Highlight how you balanced supporting people with driving tangible placements.
Be ready to discuss how you have driven outcomes tied to KPIs, managed compliance and data entry, and kept appointments to track progress toward employment goals. Have a story ready about a participant you helped move from preparation to placement, including any collaboration with employers to negotiate trials or wage subsidies.
Ask a smart question that reflects the role’s focus, such as how the Inclusive Employment Australia Program measures success in Reservoir and what a typical 90-day ramp looks like for an Employment Consultant who’s new to the team.
