Job Description

Our Macraes-based Metallurgical team have an exciting opportunity for an Innovation Development Engineer to join the team. Working as an integral part of the Metallurgical team, this role will focus on focus on digital information, providing technical expertise, guidance and reasoning to the operations and maintenance teams with the objective to optimise the process plant performance through the implementation of innovation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Review process control configurations to improve overall circuit / equipment performance.
  • Develop and maintain ‘LIVE’ mass balances on Asset Intellect/Pi Vision for each circuit in plant.
  • Assist Process Plant teams with process troubleshooting and metallurgical investigations to ensure the process plant is optimised.
  • Monitor and evaluate processing plant parameters to identify potential risks or innovation improvement opportunities.
  • Review existing metallurgy, maintenance and operations monitoring sheets with the aim to automate (Eg: Asset Intellect/PI Vision).
  • Point of contact for Site’s PI System and Asset Intellect administration and development support.
  • Optimisation of Plant Data Collection (Reagents, Power, LPG, Process Water, Return Water live Balances etc).
  • Key resource for PI Analytics & MATLAB use with the aim of improving business operation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Metallurgy / Chemical / Process Engineering, or the equivalent.
  • Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.

Experience:                 

  • Two to five years’ experience preferable in mineral processing or industrial processes.
  • Experience with PI integration with MATLAB software would be well regarded as would project development and production focused experience.
