The NZ team is an early, pivotal part of Airwallex’s growth story and offers a rare chance to help shape outcomes in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll guide the end-to-end sign-up journey for small business leads, from the initial outreach to closing the deal. In addition to driving sales, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the business to streamline onboarding, keep an eye on compliance, and provide insights to the Growth team to sharpen how Airwallex is presented to SMEs.

More than 2,300 people work across 27 offices, serving over 676,000 businesses including names like McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN and TikTok. The NZ team is part of this broad growth narrative, offering an opportunity to contribute to a unique expansion in a developing market.

Day-to-day momentum in the Auckland hub

In this role you’ll own the full cycle for small business leads who want to join Airwallex’s platform. Expect to reach out to prospective customers, collect the essential information, and move conversations toward a decision that benefits both sides.

Beyond securing commitments, you’ll work with colleagues across the business to refine how leads are handled, support onboarding for new clients, keep compliance on track, and share practical insights with the Growth team to improve targeting and messaging.

Advice for applicants

Put your relevant sales experience up front, especially roles where you managed the full lead lifecycle and closed deals. Show measurable outcomes that align with the 1-2+ years of sales experience the role seeks.

Demonstrate how you articulate a product’s value to SMEs and how you uncover customer pain points that map to Airwallex’s capabilities, including cross-border payments and SME-focused solutions. If you’ve connected product benefits to customer outcomes before, bring concrete examples to the interview.

Be ready to discuss how you’ve used a CRM to track activity, update contacts, and support reporting, as this role calls for clear collaboration with Marketing and onboarding teams to improve targeting and messaging.

Come with a smart question about the NZ growth plan and how the NZ team collaborates with global offices. It signals you’re thinking about long-term impact and how you’d fit into Airwallex’s broader growth strategy.
