ELCA Group, a large Swiss IT services firm with around 2,200 experts, is looking for a motivated intern to work onsite in Pully, Vaud. The team is exploring how Agentic AI can support financial controlling and management reporting, while keeping the accuracy and traceability that finance environments require. The internship starts in February 2027 and runs for six months, and the company invites applications from master’s students who can bring curiosity and a practical mindset to this high-visibility challenge.

Based in Switzerland but connected to a broader network, ELCA has a long track record of shaping digital transformation for public and private organisations across industries, with a focus on AI, cloud, and cybersecurity. This role sits at the intersection of finance, data platforms, and artificial intelligence, and is designed for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, stakeholder collaboration, and turning complex data into clear, evidence-based explanations.

The internship is ideal for someone who wants to blend finance analytics with cutting-edge AI concepts, willing to work closely with controllers, business managers, and AI professionals to shorten the time it takes to produce reliable management reports, and to shift more effort toward business partnering and leadership activities rather than data gathering.

Day-to-day in the finance and AI lab

You will join a cross-functional team to map the current reporting process, speak with controllers and business managers, and uncover bottlenecks that slow down the path from close to insight. A key part of the work is reviewing recent research on Agentic AI, trustworthy AI, and how humans and AI can collaborate in financial analytics. In parallel, you’ll design and build a prototype that can pull data from several enterprise systems, flag significant variances, explore potential causes, and generate explanations that are traceable back to sources.

As the project progresses, you’ll compare AI-driven analyses with assessments from experienced controllers, measuring how accurate and trustworthy the results are and how much effort could be saved. The team will look for realistic pathways to scale AI-assisted investigation and reporting across the organization, culminating in concrete recommendations and a roadmap for industrializing the approach.

Your core qualifications

  • Master's student in computer science, data science, data engineering or a closely related field
  • Clear interest in AI, large language models and agent-based systems
  • Proven programming ability in Python and/or Java
  • Strong analytical mindset and a knack for problem solving
  • Interest in business analytics and translating data into actionable insights

Practical details and what you’ll get

The internship runs February 2027 for six months and is based onsite in Pully, Vaud. It offers exposure to Agentic AI, enterprise data platforms, and financial analytics within a dynamic, collaborative environment that pairs finance, data, and AI professionals. The role requires you to include your latest academic transcripts with your application; applications submitted without transcripts will not be considered.

Advice for applicants

Lead with a project on your resume that shows you’ve built or contributed to a prototype that analyzes data from multiple systems, detects meaningful variances, and explains causes with traceable sources.

Demonstrate how you’ve used Python or Java in a real analytics context, and be explicit about the data pipelines or tools you leveraged to join information across systems and validate results.

Be ready to walk through a concrete approach during interviews: how you would measure AI accuracy against human assessments, how you would rate trustworthiness, and how you’d quantify potential reductions in manual effort.

Ask a practical question about how the team would industrialize the AI-assisted investigation: for example, how traceability and explainability are maintained when the AI suggests actions or explanations for management reporting.

How to apply

To be considered, include your latest academic transcripts with your application. The internship starts in February 2027 and lasts six months, and it is an onsite role in Pully, Vaud.
