An Introductory OSHC Educator role at The Y Brooke Avenue OSHC is a full-time onsite position supporting school aged children before and after school under My Time Our Place. The Y Brooke Avenue OSHC is a welcoming, school‑based Out of School Hours Care service that supports children through Before and After School Care. The Centre prioritises safety and consistency. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Introductory OSHC Educator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and making a meaningful difference in their before and after school care experience.

As an Introductory OSHC Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-aged children. You will work collaboratively with a supportive team to deliver high-quality care and educational programs that align with the My Time, Our Place framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment during before and after school care hours
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs that promote children's learning, development, and wellbeing
• Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies and procedures
• Contribute to the documentation and assessment of children's learning and development
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe program environment at all times
• Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding their child's daily experiences
• Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and training as required

About You

• A genuine passion for working with school-aged children and supporting their growth and development
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with children, families, and team members
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• A commitment to upholding child safety, inclusion, and diversity principles
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of professional responsibility

Requirements

• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma management certificates (or willingness to obtain)
• Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification in Children's Services or Early Childhood Education and Care
• Availability to work before and after school hours, as well as during school vacation care periods
