Shape the connection between business strategy and technology delivery 

We're looking for an IT Business Partner to help DIA branches make informed, strategic technology decisions that support better outcomes for people, communities and government. 

This is a trusted advisory role where you will work closely with senior branch stakeholders, technology teams, architects, programmes and projects to translate business strategy into clear digital direction, roadmaps and investment priorities. 

What you will do 

  • Act as the strategic interface between assigned DIA branches and technology teams 
  • Build trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders and understand their drivers, strategies and needs 
  • Lead complex business problem solving and support branch technology strategic direction 
  • Shape and maintain branch technology roadmaps, target state views and investment priorities 
  • Work with architects, suppliers and delivery teams to align solutions with business outcomes 
  • Provide clear advice to support prioritisation, sequencing and informed investment decisions 
  • Champion good technology practice, innovation and continuous improvement across the business partner practice 

Working as part of the Strategy and Engagement function, this role will help branches make better technology choices, improve alignment between business demand and digital supply, and support the translation of strategy into practical delivery outcomes. 

Key skills and capabilities 

  • Strong business acumen and experience engaging with senior leaders, business owners and executives 
  • Experience in strategic planning, business development, client management or business technology planning 
  • Ability to develop high-quality strategic business and technology planning artefacts 
  • Confidence navigating complexity and bringing people with different views towards pragmatic solutions 
  • Strong communication and influencing skills 
  • Broad awareness of technology and its practical application in supporting business needs 
  • Analytical thinking and ability to think architecturally about future state outcomes 
  • A flexible, responsive approach and willingness to take on new challenges 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a confidential security clearance
