Nine’s Lismore based journalist role is a full-time onsite position with NBN’s regional news arm, covering northern NSW and into Queensland. You’ll identify breaking local stories, own sport coverage, conduct interviews, and script and edit packages for TV, radio and social, collaborating with regional camera operators from a modern Newcastle newsroom and meeting tight deadlines. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor in Journalism, TV news experience with a sports emphasis, a confident on-air presence, crisp writing and strong regional contacts. It has bureaus with reporters and camera operators in the Central Coast, Tamworth, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Taree – broadcasting out of a brand new state of the art studio and newsroom in Newcastle. NBN has been based out of Newcastle for 60 years – and is a talent pool for the broader Nine Network.
