Accor’s Novotel & Ibis Auckland Ellerslie is hiring a full‑time Kitchen Attendant to keep the kitchen clean, organised and stocked, support chefs during busy periods and assist with basic prep. Core duties include dishwashing, waste management and receiving storing and rotating stock in line with health and safety. The ideal candidate brings a friendly professional attitude, solid communication and time management, and is comfortable working on a rotating seven day roster with early or late shifts. Kitchen or hotel experience helps but is not essential. Job Description

As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. Your efforts will help our chefs create memorable meals by ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised and well-stocked at all times.

  • Support kitchen operations through basic food preparation and assisting chefs during busy service periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes/equipment and keeping all kitchen surfaces hygienic and organised.
  • Manage waste by regularly removing rubbish and recycling, ensuring disposal areas stay tidy.
  • Help with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies while following all health, safety, and food-handling procedures.

Qualifications

  • Brings a friendly, professional attitude with strong communication, time‑management skills, and a passion for hospitality.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexible with scheduling, available for a rotating 7‑day roster with early morning or late‑night shifts.
  • Understands basic food safety and hygiene practices; previous kitchen or hotel service experience is beneficial but not essential.
