Description

Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine (HBMCDM) is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), the academic arm of Dubai Health, UAE. MBRU aims to impact lives and shape the future of health ​through the integration of care, learning, and discovery​.

HBMCDM offers three-year Master of Science /Residency programs, open to all nationalities, with English as the language of instruction. The college is affiliated with the Dental Hospital and other Dubai Health dental facilities, where students receive their clinical training.

HBMCDM works in close partnership with Dubai Health dental facilities, forming an integrated Oral Health Ecosystem that connects clinical care, education, research, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Independent Project Leadership

  • Independently plan, execute, and manage research projects involving human iPSCs
  • Translate project objectives into experimental plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Take responsibility for experimental troubleshooting, optimization, and decision-making

iPSC & Tissue Engineering Expertise

  • Perform and oversee advanced human iPSC culture, maintenance, and experimental use
  • Apply tissue engineering and advanced in-vitro approaches to support project objectives
  • Ensure experimental rigor, reproducibility, and high technical standards

Data Quality & Documentation

  • Generate high-quality, well-documented experimental data
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and contribute to protocol documentation
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, ethics, and quality requirements

Scientific Contribution & Collaboration

  • Contribute intellectually to study design, data interpretation, and reporting.
  • Support collaborative projects within the center when required
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and research assistants

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in stem cell biology, tissue engineering, biomedical sciences, or a related field
  • Extensive hands-on experience with human iPSC culture and experimental workflows
  • Demonstrated experience in tissue engineering or advanced in-vitro culture systems
  • Proven ability to run research projects independently

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in interdisciplinary or translational research environments
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior laboratory staff
  • Track record of contributing to research outputs (e.g., reports, publications)
  • Experience contributing to grant-funded research projects
