Position Summary

The Labourer is responsible for supporting wash plant operations at the Myers location while operating a front-end loader to assist with material handling and production activities. This role is primarily labour-focused, involving hands-on work around the wash plant to help ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations, while using a loader to move and feed material as required. As part of a small crew, the Labourer contributes to maintaining site cleanliness, supporting daily production targets, and working safely in a fast-paced environment.

 

This is a seasonal, physically demanding outdoor position that requires flexibility to work extended hours, typically 10-to-12-hour shifts, in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation of the wash plant to ensure safe and efficient production
  • Operate a front-end loader to move, sort, and feed material as required for plant operations
  • Perform general labour duties around the wash plant, including cleaning, shoveling, and maintaining clear work areas
  • Conduct basic equipment checks and assist with routine maintenance and housekeeping of plant and equipment
  • Maintain site cleanliness and assist with overall yard organization and material flow
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and participate in safe work practices
  • Work collaboratively with crew members to meet daily production and operational requirements

Requirements

Must Have

  • Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work extended hours, including 10 to 12 hour shifts during peak season

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience operating a front-end loader or similar equipment
  • Experience working in a wash plant, quarry, or aggregates environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with basic equipment maintenance
  • Experience performing general labour in a construction or industrial setting
  • Flexibility to travel to other locations as needed (up to 25%)

Compensation

$25.39 - $30.51 per hour
