Lead
Arc'teryxArc'teryx is hiring a Store Lead to join its Halifax team on a full-time, on-site basis. The role sits within a premium outdoor brand known for technical gear and a strong emphasis on community and environmental stewardship. The Halifax store needs a proactive leader who can guide guests and the team with accountability and a hands-on approach.
The Store Lead works alongside the Assistant and Store Manager to coach a group of Product Guides and shape the guest journey. This position touches every part of the store, from guest experience and product knowledge to community events, operations and people, and invites someone who enjoys evolving how the business runs.
Ideal candidates are outdoors-minded, product-obsessed and ready to coach others while pushing the store toward bold objectives. If you value getting outside, take pride in people development, and want to lead by example on the floor, this role is a fit.
Staying close to the action on the shop floor
On a typical shift, the Store Lead guides the team in line with Arc’teryx’s Vision, Purpose and Values, staying tuned to what’s happening on the sales floor and guest interactions in real time. You help Product Guides deliver authentic, technical product knowledge to ensure a world-class guest experience, and you lead from the floor five days a week, overseeing the five pillars of the business, experience, product, community, operations and people.
Community is built through sharing brand information and event details with both the team and guests, inviting everyone to participate. You coach and give feedback to unlock potential and support the store in hitting targets, while also overseeing daily inventory tasks like receiving, processing, restocking and destocking, plus visual merchandising to keep the floor compelling.
Communication of company initiatives, policies and priorities happens through you to the team, often in collaboration with the Store Manager. You’ll use the necessary tools to manage store operations, keep an eye on sales targets, labor and budget, and you’ll network with potential partners to expand events and brand engagement in the community. Opening and closing procedures are part of your responsibilities, and you’ll handle phones, voicemails and emails, occasionally responding on regional social channels. You rotate through areas of focus to deepen your understanding of the five pillars, and you process guest transactions on the Point of Sale system, including warranties, Used Gear trade-ins, purchases and returns, with accuracy and efficiency.

Advice for applicants
Lead your resume with your leadership and retail experience, making sure to call out at least one year of leadership and 1–2 years in retail so the panel sees you can manage people and a busy floor.
When you describe your coaching, share concrete examples of how you unlocked potential in a teammate and how that translated into improved performance or hitting targets.
Be prepared to discuss how you enforce health and safety guidelines on a busy floor, including any procedures you’ve used to keep guests and staff safe during peak times.
Think of a smart question to ask about how local partners and events are used to maximize brand engagement in the community, and how you would contribute to that effort in Halifax.
