Stagiaire, Chaine d'approvisionnement (aerostrutures) (Hiver 2027)
BombardierBombardier, a global leader in aviation, is offering a winter internship in its aerostructures supply chain. The role is based on site in Dorval, Quebec, with a hybrid work setup and a requirement to be on site at least two days each week at one of Bombardier’s Montreal facilities. It’s aimed at students currently pursuing a degree in fields like business administration, supply chain management, law, or engineering who want practical exposure to procurement, contracts and supplier management in the aerospace sector. If you’re looking to apply classroom knowledge to real-world sourcing and contract work, this could be a strong fit.
Participants can expect a program sprinkled with professional development and networking. The itinerary includes conferences where you’ll meet executives and attend learning sessions such as product briefings and site visits, plus access to Bombardier’s Academy of Learning. There are social and volunteer opportunities that help you connect with peers and mentors, giving you a well-rounded view of how a global aerospace company runs its procurement operations.
Internships are open to students rather than new graduates, and you should be prepared for occasional travel outside Canada for training or work if required. The experience is designed to be hands-on and collaborative, with exposure to real-world procurement scenarios and the chance to learn from seasoned professionals in the field.
What you’ll do on a daily basis
In this role you’ll back a senior procurement professional across the full procurement lifecycle for aerostructures, helping with everyday activities that keep projects moving. Expect to assist in assembling governance materials for leadership, track progress on strategic initiatives and help lay out project plans. You’ll work with contract documentation and play a part in shaping negotiation approaches and the preparation of business cases. Throughout, you’ll learn from procurement specialists and gain insight into how supplier relationships are managed in aerospace contexts.
What you’ll need to join the team
To stand a good chance, you should meet these baseline qualifications:
- Current enrolment in a university program in business administration, supply chain management, law, engineering or a related field
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, with particular strength in PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with Power BI is a plus
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, plus good communication and planning skills
- Ability to distill data findings into clear written reports and presentations
- A solid grasp of contract concepts and how they’re structured (including IP protection, payment and delivery terms, quality and guarantees, liability limits, and confidentiality)
- A results-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus, flexibility and autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Initiative and a proactive approach to identifying improvements and solutions
- English and French fluency sufficient for daily work
- Willingness to be on site at Montreal installations for at least two days per week, with the possibility of more, in line with policy
- Nice-to-haves include familiarity with SharePoint and SAP, which would help you contribute sooner
- Another plus is exposure to Power BI or other data-visualization tools that support presenting actionable insights
Pay, benefits and practical details
The program runs for four months and takes place at Bombardier’s Centre Administratif site (CA). The work arrangement is hybrid, with a concrete expectation of on-site presence at least two days per week at a Montreal installation and the possibility of more, depending on policy. Interns should be aware that while the posting notes this is an internship for students, there may be occasions where travel outside Canada is required for training or work.
Advice for applicants this winter internship
Lead with your current program and field of study in your resume. Put the exact degree path you’re pursuing at the top, and include any coursework or projects related to business administration, supply chain, contracts or engineering so the reader sees the direct relevance.
Show concrete evidence of the must-have skills. For example, describe a project where you used Excel and PowerPoint to analyse data and present findings, or a contract-related exercise from coursework that demonstrates your understanding of terms like IP protections, delivery schedules and confidentiality.
Prepare for interviews by sharing a crisp example of turning data into a clear conclusion. Practice explaining a complex idea or contract concept in simple terms, and be ready to discuss how you would communicate results in both French and English.
Have a thoughtful question ready for the interview. You could ask how the procurement team prioritizes aerostructures initiatives this year, what governance documents the intern would help prepare, or how the role collaborates with suppliers to manage delivery and quality expectations.
