We are seeking an experienced Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our Middle East Engineering Team in Dubai, UAE.
The Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer is responsible for executing the hardware technology roadmap for the Eaton EMEA PMCC and LSDPI product portfolio, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Low Voltage Switchgear, embedded systems, IoT-enabled products, and related industrial control solutions. The role provides technical leadership for new technology introduction, support in new product introduction and value analysis/value engineering, PCB modernization, support to manufacturing functions and sustaining engineering initiatives.
The position is responsible for the design, development, validation, and optimization of electronic hardware solutions, ensuring compliance with product requirements, quality standards, cost targets, and project schedules. The role drives technical decision-making through engineering analysis, simulations, testing, and validation activities while leading technical reviews and supporting innovation, continuous improvement, and product lifecycle management.
Success in this role requires strong system-level thinking, technical depth in embedded hardware design, and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. The engineer is expected to identify and implement innovative technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to the development of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective product solutions.
• Masters/Bachelors in Electronics/ Electronics and telecommunication
• 8+ Years of relevant experience
• Sound knowledge of Electronics Components (Active, Passive & custom parts) & their applications, PCB manufacturing and assembly
• Hands on experience of Product development life cycle on multiple projects including requirements, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification
• Hands on experience on CAM tools like CAM350, Gerber view, Valor etc.
• Understand the interpret the PCB and PCBA requirements based on the available Gerbers, fabrication, assembly notes.
• Must possess knowledge of the PCB material, Soldermask materials, PCB solder finish methods (ENIG, HASL, OSP etc), conformal coating and methodologies, Penalization, coupons, Layer stackup, prepreg, core materials, Gerber files, fabrication drawings, drills, routes, tooling holes, fiducials, Depanelization methodologies v-Socre, mouse Bites, etc.
• Sound knowledge of the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Reflow, wave and hand soldering methodologies
• Knowledge of EMI/C, rectifying the problems and resolving the challenges
• Sound knowledge on electronic component fabrication technology and their performance curve.
• Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Good analytical skills, work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.
