JOB PURPOSE
Lead Interface Engineer is the role accountable for the overall Interface activities in the FEED/EPC phase at home office as well as Execution of the Project Interface activities at site which combines both technical and coordination aspects. The role holder acts as a principal point of contact who liaises with all internal and external stakeholders for various technical inputs and ensuring coordination among multiple parties/project packages that is required during the Project design and execution phase.

Job Specific Accountabilities
External and Internal Interfaces
- Lead Interface Engineer, Project Interfaces, is responsible for engineering coordination and Execution of assigned Interface requirements through close interaction with Internal and External parties/Stakeholders/End Users/Contractors and will also identify, develop, coordinate, expedite and steward till closure of all Project Interfaces.
- Coordinates and establishes the regular interface meetings between Contractor and Company.
- Leads the discussions and frequent coordination Operations, Material Handling Operations and Turn around Team for the execution of the interface activities.
- Provides regular updates on Project Interfaces to Process/Commissioning Manager and provides monthly and weekly reports for progress and proactively identifying Interface issues.

Coordinates and participates in various project related interface meetings and activities & ensure the timely completion of the battery limit tie-ins, tie-ins related to scopes.
Technical Integration
- Focal point and responsible to identify, define and execute the technical/physical internal and external interfaces through FEED/EPC phase by establishing Interface Point registers.
- Well monitoring and control of the IP Databases, managed for IP’s and IQ’s initiation/correspondence/agreements to align with agreed Interdependency Schedule between FEED/EPC contractor and various Stakeholders.

Actively participates in reviewing the Project Scope of work, various implementing strategies, execution plan, Constructing Strategies, etc.
Design Alignment
- Overall Responsibility for Interface Deliverables including but not limited to establishing and executing the interconnections with existing Borouge
- Ensures that the HAZOP of battery limit (interface point) is carried out as per the requirements of the Project.

Organize Interface Meetings with internal and external parties for establishing and finalizing of the interface point register for multiple disciplines in a timely manner.
Site Coordination
- Closely working with FEED/EPC Contractor Interface team & other stakeholders.
- Follow up of the required Interface related documentation and feedback from FEED/EPC contractor and other stakeholders and sharing with Process/Commissioning Manager. Highlights the shortfalls and sought for support needed from the Process/Commissioning.
- Manager on time in order to avoid the schedule delay.
- Focal point for identifying with Operations, Maintenance and Integrity Team, the key Interfaces between Project and Existing Facilities (Brownfield works) with particular focus to Interface/tie-ins during shutdown period activities.

Focal point for maintaining the data base and reviewing all the pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures of the various systems.
Performance
- Ensures the Pre-commissioning & Commissioning procedures are prepared on time and the reviews are done by the company on time.
- Productivity: Maintain the interface engineering documents review plan.

Performance assessment: The three above parameters in addition to a set of individual KPI’s will be assessed on regular frequency (mid-term & final review) by the Process/Commissioning Manager and the outcome shall be fed back to the individual, clearly identifying areas of improvement (as applicable).
Engineering Change Management
- Review of Interface discipline specific Concession requests issued within the CONTRACT; validate the basis of the request & its impact on technical integrity & justification, prior to requesting endorsement from Process/Commissioning Manager.

Monitoring & ensuring that Interface discipline specific design change management is being carried out for all respective engineering changes with proper multidiscipline impact assessment & the same is registered & controlled (as & when required).
General
- Maintain regular meetings with interface discipline counterpart for timely discipline activity coordination & problems resolution as applicable.
- Communicate discipline specific updates/areas of concern on regular basis to the Process/Commissioning Manager.

Address technical conflicts & disputes with Counterpart (CONTRACTOR) in a professional & systematic manner, relevant to governing specifications/codes & actual situation.
Operational Plans
- Oversee and lead the interface executions and achievement to ensure achieving the desired outputs and performance by the team.
- Continuously monitor the pre-commissioning/commissioning schedule of the project AND Procedures are developed by the FEED/EPC contractor and reviewed by company on time.
- Focus the development and ensure proper cascade of the status of the schedule to Process/Commissioning Manager in order to avoid any slippage.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university, with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
- ADNOC & Offshore project experience is preferred.
- PMC experiences are preferrable.
- Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
- Experience in Project execution and knowledge of engineering standards is preferred.
- Promote team working and productive operating climate with a multi-cultural, multi-national workforce.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Working knowledge of various reviews such as PFD/P&IDs review, Hazop reviews and 3D Model reviews etc.
- Expert in technical report writing, technical/coordination procedure and formal technical correspondence.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and development of interface point design parameters.
- Proficient in the use of computers and able to work with the relevant engineering software.
