Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all materials engineering activities during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases of the project.
Develop and implement materials selection strategies for process facilities, pipelines, piping systems, static equipment, and offshore structures, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation.
Prepare, review, and approve material selection reports, corrosion studies, material specifications, piping class specifications, and technical requisitions.
Perform materials selection and corrosion assessments considering process conditions, operating environments, and project design life requirements.
Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes and standards such as NACE, ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO.
Provide technical expertise in corrosion control, coating systems, cathodic protection interfaces, metallurgy, welding requirements, and non-metallic materials applications.
Review vendor documentation, technical bid evaluations, and material compliance documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Support HAZOP, HAZID, constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and design optimization initiatives.
Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Inspection, and Procurement disciplines to ensure appropriate material selection and specification.
Participate in technical meetings with clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve material-related issues.
Monitor engineering deliverables and ensure activities are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers to ensure technical excellence and effective project delivery.
