Lead Procurement Engineer
WorleyDay-to-day rhythm in a major procurement hub
In Abu Dhabi, Worley is looking for a Lead Procurement Engineer to steer the sourcing muscle of large oil and gas projects. The role is full-time and onsite, reporting to a Senior Project Control Specialist, and sits within the company’s Supply Chain Management efforts. This is a senior-quality assignment for someone who thrives on shaping procurement strategy and guiding cross-functional teams through complex contracts and interfaces.
Based in the Abu Dhabi City area, you’ll develop integrated procurement plans and procedures and supervise the contractor’s procurement activities to align with the project agreement. You’ll work closely with FEED and EPC teams, ensure timely submission and approval of plans, and help keep the project on schedule by coordinating buying, expediting, inspection, and shipping workflows. This is a chance to influence how procurement supports project goals across multiple phases and teams.
The posting is dated Oct 2, 2026 and will unpost on Nov 1, 2026. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and at least 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical environments, including five years in a leadership capacity, with GCC/ADNOC exposure preferred. You’ll be joining a team that values collaboration, accountability, and delivering value across the asset lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing on the job
You’ll help craft and maintain procurement plans and related procedures, and you’ll review and approve plans and procedures prepared by the contractor to ensure they meet the project’s contractual requirements. You’ll also assess the contractor’s procurement organization to confirm it has the right people and structure to deliver, and you’ll monitor performance to keep procurement activities aligned with the project schedule. In practice, this means guiding bid processes, evaluating technical bids, and delivering award recommendations, while also overseeing order placement, expediting, inspection, and shipping activities as the project progresses.
Daily, you’ll compile and maintain procurement reports such as status updates, service registers, inspection and expediting records, and spare parts tracking, and you’ll process a range of procurement and subcontracting correspondence. You’ll need to review a steady stream of documentation, from technical bid evaluations to duty exemption requests, and prepare position papers and approvals for the company. You’ll work alongside FEED and EPC teams and coordinate with other project stakeholders to secure timely decisions, ensuring that procurement documentation is current and properly endorsed. Above all, you’ll keep management informed of risks and mitigation plans and collaborate with the contractor’s procurement staff to maintain clear, ongoing communication about all procurement matters.

Guidance for applicants
Put your most relevant experience at the top of your resume. Lead with a line that summarises your 15+ years in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical procurement, and clearly call out any ADNOC or GCC experience, including leadership of procurement teams on large projects.
Demonstrate you can prove the must-have skills with concrete examples. Mention a major project where you shaped procurement plans, guided a cross-disciplinary team, and delivered on-time purchasing, expediting, and shipping milestones, along with any quantifiable outcomes.
Prepare for interviews by detailing how you’ve coordinated with Client, PMC, Contractor and EPC teams to keep procurement documents and plans aligned with contract requirements and schedule. Be ready with a few scenarios that show your ability to review and approve procurement and subcontracting plans, manage vendor prequalification, and handle risk mitigations.
Ask a smart question that shows you’ve thought about Worley’s environment. For example: how does the team balance speed and compliance when integrating procurement across FEED to EPC phases, and what are the biggest procurement risks they’re currently addressing on flagship projects?
