Learning & Development Advisor
Rocket Lab USARocket Lab, the end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and crucial subsystems to keep the world connected and expand humanity’s reach, is looking for a Learning & Development Advisor to join the Auckland, NZ team onsite. The role sits in the People & Culture function and will partner closely with the L&D Team Lead and other stakeholders to shape how people grow at Rocket Lab. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who loves turning learning into real performance, within a technical, fast-moving environment.
The company moves fast and ships real hardware for meaningful missions. In this role, you’ll take a strong lead in delivering engaging learning experiences, oversee ongoing Academy programmes, and help design and roll out new learning academies. You’ll contribute to the broader learning ecosystem to ensure employees have practical, accessible opportunities that support growth and performance. You’ll also help develop digital learning solutions and ensure learning pathways stay relevant and aligned with organisational needs.
This position would suit a proactive learning professional who enjoys facilitation and instructional design, has a track record of delivering impactful training, and is comfortable in a technically oriented workplace. The role requires hands-on delivery, collaboration with stakeholders, and an eye for continuous improvement of the Academy framework and blended learning resources.
What You’ll Do as a Learning & Development Advisor at Rocket Lab
You’ll lead high‑impact training sessions and workshops, delivering content both in person and virtually to support a wide range of roles and levels. You’ll also keep a close eye on the Academy programmes, ensuring consistency, quality, and ongoing improvements are embedded across the learning portfolio. In addition, you’ll contribute to the creation and rollout of newly formed learning academies and help build practical blended resources that blend self‑paced content with instructor‑led sessions. Implementing onboarding programs so new hires have a smooth, engaging early experience will be part of your remit as well.
Collaborating with the L&D Team Lead and key stakeholders, you’ll shape learning pathways that remain effective and relevant, while actively contributing to the development of digital learning solutions. Your work will bridge traditional instruction with modern, scalable methods to support performance and growth across the organisation.
The Right Candidate for the L&D Advisor Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Learning and Development or a related role
- Proven experience delivering effective training programs
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS)
- Expertise using e‑learning software such as Articulate Storyline
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- Experience in production, manufacturing, or technical industries
- Certification in training and development is a plus
- Experience with AI in an L&D environment
