The Learning and Diversity Teacher is a member of our Geelong campus team. They will work collaboratively to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging learning programs that are suited to the diverse needs of our students, and meet curriculum requirements.

MacKillop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School that comprises of four school campuses in VIC; Geelong, Maidstone, Clifton Hill and Caulfield. It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKilllop have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students and this can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours. 

 

We have 1x Permanent Full-time opportunity available based in Geelong, VIC within our MacKillop Education Program.

 

About the role:

The Generalist Teacher will work collaboratively to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging learning programs that are suited to the diverse needs of our students and meet the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum, and senior pathways.

The Generalist Teacher will design and deliver learning programs that meet the needs of all students and is compliant with curriculum requirements. This includes classroom teaching and 1:1 intensive student support as required. Experience delivering the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and/or the VCE VM (Vocational Major) will be considered an advantage.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A four-year teaching qualification or equivalent and eligibility for Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in implementing highly aspirational initiatives in student learning, informed by the Victorian Curriculum 
  • Experience in the design, delivery and assessment of programs that cater for the diverse and complex needs of individual learners, and engage students who have a range of learning difficulties and challenging behaviours
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues to improve the quality of programs and enhance student outcomes
