Westpac’s Learning Solutions Designer role at Takutai Square is a part-time onsite opportunity to partner with Learning Capability Managers to design learning solutions across regulatory, compliance and culture. Requires 5+ years’ experience with hands-on development using Storyline 3/360, Lectora, and Adobe CC, plus 2+ years in stakeholder management and end-to-end project leadership. Mō te tūranga | About the Role
· Partner with Learning Capability Managers (LCM) and business stakeholders to scope, develop, design and implement learning solutions in line with prioritised and agreed learning backlog initiatives.
· Take on projects and collaborate across the broader Learning Talent and Culture and HRC team.
· Proactively identify and analyse problems to find appropriate solutions.
· Build, maintain, and manage effective relationships.
· Adapt communications to work alongside varying stakeholders from across the business.
- Communicate effectively throughout the project to provide updates, check approaches and feed back to the design team.
· Provide insight and input for stakeholders/LCM consideration from a user experience perspective.
· Where design lead on projects – provide clarity to design team, communication, engagement.
· Understand delivery commitments and deliver on expectations.
· Act as an LCM delegate to lead projects end to end as required – flowing to support workload where needed.
· Build tailored learning solutions covering a wide range of complex topics across the Bank, from regulatory, legislative, compliance/risk to culture, employee engagement, sustainability, diversity and inclusion etc.
· Create and adapt engaging and impactful learning experiences by:
· Identifying learning needs and objectives.
· Designing learning structure and sequence (including storyboarding).
· Developing assessment in line with learning objectives.
· Building engaging learning.
· Considering success measures and looking for opportunities to simplify and improve engagement.
· Consider audience specifications and preferences. Apply adult learning principles to design engaging learning that meets business requirements.
· Use instructional design models and modern approaches such as Design Thinking, learning in the flow of work.
· Proficiently use design, media, and authoring tools and systems such as Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Acrobat), Storyline, Lectora, Seertech (iLearn Learning Management System).
· Use knowledge of plain English to write and review learning and assessment content that is simple and easy to digest.
· Record, edit and construct engaging video/audio content that enables learning.
· Use design eye to bring simplicity into learning through visual structure of content and assets.
· Consider user experience throughout the learning project and continuously adapt as appropriate.
· Champion a focus on continuous improvement by drawing on your experience to challenge and stimulate fresh thinking to improve effectiveness, efficiency and customer experience.
· Remove pain points in learning through simplification and iterative improvements.
· Use critical thinking - have an open mindset, consider all information, look for opportunities to suggest and implement solutions that improve outcomes.
· Be adaptable and work collaboratively. Have an openness to the views of others, change, and feedback. Adjust approaches to meet specific requirements.
· Use agile methodologies to continuously improve the way we work to deliver to a high standard
· Use design programmes effectively.
· Communicate clearly during agile ceremonies to allow fluidity in ways of working.
