NZSki’s Mt Hutt Lift Operator is a full-time, on-site winter role on the front lines of guest service. You’ll greet guests, assist on and off lifts, manage queues, and operate lift machinery during busy periods or emergencies. The team wants high-energy, fun personalities with solid front-line service and ideally lift operations experience, plus the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure in a team. You must ski or snowboard in all weather, be physically fit and safety conscious, and flexible to help other departments. Lifty's are the face of our mountain, everyone who skis or rides at Mt Hutt during the season will interact with a Lift Operator. We are therefore seeking fun-loving personalities with an affinity for operating machinery safely who can multi-task with a smile on their face in a blizzard. If this sounds like you then read on!
About the Role
• meeting and greeting all guests who ride a chairlift
• assisting guests on and off chairlifts safely and in accordance with procedures
• providing additional assistance to those who may require it
• queue management and the ability to plan for busy periods
• operating lift machinery
• participating in training for lift evacuations and de-icing chairlifts, and carrying out these tasks safely and effectively during the season if required
About You
• high levels of energy - you must be FUN!
• previous Lift Operations experience would be ideal
• at least 1-year front line customer service experience with a total commitment to the guest service experience
• proven ability to work unsupervised along with the ability to work under pressure in a team environment
• the ability to quickly build a rapport with all guests and staff, coupled with strong teamwork skills
• excellent personal presentation as well as extremely punctual and reliable
• physically fit
• health & safety conscious and a good record in this area
• applicants should be flexible and be willing to help in other departments at times
• applicants need to be able to ski or snowboard in all weather conditions on intermediate terrain
• applicants must be comfortable working outside in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions and available for early shifts as required
• an understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
