What You’ll Do as a Loader / FLT Warehouse Operative at ABF Grocery Selby

You’ll load and unload finished goods, packaging, pallets and tote bags safely, and you’ll move finished goods pallets from the packing hall to where they’re needed. You’ll ensure pallets carry the correct finished goods labels and you’ll supply production lines with the packaging and consumables they require. You’ll also help remove used pallets, waste packaging and other materials from production areas, carry out pre‑start checks and complete the required documentation, and support Line Technicians and palletiser activity when needed. Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working area throughout the shift is part of the role, and reporting health and safety issues and near misses quickly helps keep standards high across the site.

Candidate Profile for the Loader / FLT Warehouse Operative

The essential requirement is an FLT licence. The company is also looking for someone who:

• Has a good basic understanding of workplace safety
• Communicates clearly and works well with others
• Is comfortable with basic numbers and paperwork
• Takes pride in doing things safely and accurately
• Is flexible and happy working in a busy operational environment

A Food Hygiene certificate would be useful, but it isn’t essential.

Pay, Hours and Site Details

The role pays £32,549.64 per annum, with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are rotating: 6:00am to 2:00pm, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, with occasional 10:00pm to 6:00am night shifts when required, though these are very rare. The job is based in Selby, England, onsite at ABF Grocery’s Westmill site, and comes with Westmill benefits as part of the package.
