The Work At ABF Grocery Manchester
On shift, you’ll operate the packing line following operational, food safety and quality standards, making sure flour is packaged correctly and prepared for dispatch. You’ll also carry out warehouse and production duties, which may include using mechanical handling equipment to move pallets and support daily production needs in a safe manner.
You’ll assist with carousel bagged flour production in line with Quality Systems and Standards, and when a breakdown or fault occurs you’ll promptly inform the engineers so repairs can be arranged. You’ll complete the relevant quality and integrity paperwork promptly and accurately, and rely on the warehouse management system to maintain precise stock control, picking and loading as required.
Part of the role is to monitor in‑process critical control points and keep the associated records up to date. You’ll carry out and record food checks and health and safety checks, reporting any issues you find. Keeping the packing and warehouse areas clean and hygienic is important, with a “clean as you go” approach at all times to support safety and product quality.

- Use of Mechanical Handling Equipment, Fork Lift Trucks and Shunters where appropriate to load pallets onto vehicles safely and efficiently to ensure customer deliveries go out on time and in good condition.
