Colas in North Bay is hiring a Loader Operator for overnight construction on Hwy 17, supporting Miller Group and Nipissing First Nation with 7 pm to 7 am shifts. You’ll safely operate a loader, load aggregates into a hopper, and perform daily maintenance and circle checks, keeping maintenance logs and following OH&S practices. Requirements: ability to work nights, reliable transportation to the site, valid driver’s license with daily vehicle access, experience operating a loader, and comfort working outdoors in extreme weather and a dusty, noisy environment; mechanical knowledge is a plus, Common Core training is an asset, and weekend availability is preferred. This business relationship was initially built around the Nipissing Quarry under a unique ground lease that secured Nipissing First Nation land ownership while providing Miller a local base for quarry operations. To this day, the quarry is operated by Miller from a commercial building on Nipissing First Nation under a long-term lease and royalty agreement. The success of this collaboration laid the foundation for the partnership to grow.
Your responsibilities will include safely maneuvering equipment to perform tasks such as loading trucks, maintaining stockpiles, and lifting materials. You’ll also be responsible for performing all fluid level checks and conducting routine maintenance on the equipment, cleaning, servicing, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, completing maintenance records.
We are currently hiring a Loader Operator to support our overnight construction operations (7pm – 7am). Successful candidates will work as part of a crew to safely complete a variety of duties contributing to the efficient delivery of the Hwy 17 Project.
$28 - $30 per hour
