Australia Post is hiring a permanent part-time Mail and Parcel Sorting Officer at the Mackay Mail Centre, 16 hours per week over four days (Tuesday to Friday, 6am to 10am). You’ll manually sort mail and parcels, lift up to 16 kg, and use pallet jacks with training provided. It’s a physically demanding, hands-on role with ongoing training and a clear development path. The start rate is $28.12 per hour, rising to $30.07 after three months, plus 12% super and standard leave, with Post Perks benefits. Training and Support
At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
