Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa is located on the world-famous Cable Beach in Broome, far northwestern Australia. Broome is easily accessible by plane to all major Australian cities and offers a relaxed lifestyle with all the conveniences of shops, restaurants, cinemas, hospital and schools. Our property has 225 rooms of varying styles, 4 restaurants, poolside bars, a tour desk, a day spa and hair salon.

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department, with a particular focus on the maintenance, repairs, property presentation, and OH&S compliance.

The position sits on the Executive Committee of the resort. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for a range of duties including, but not limited to:

  • Prioritise repairs and maintenance across the property.
  • Manage the Maintenance Department budget and prepare required reports in a timely manner.
  • Manage department staff to ensure maximum efficiency of labor, wage control and performance management.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment, induction and training of new staff in keeping with Resort policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice on cost-saving initiatives that are within the scope of the Maintenance department.
  • Ordering of stock and supplies in line with Resort purchasing policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
  • Maintain optimal guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers.

 

To be considered for this position candidates must demonstrate:

  • Trade qualifications are essential. Electrical or Plumbing qualifications will be viewed highly.
  • Previous experience working within the Maintenance department of a large-scale hotel/resort is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience, ideally gained from working within a hotel/resort.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within budget.
  • A current manual motor vehicle driver’s license.
