Fisher & Paykel Healthcare seeks a permanent Maintenance Technician for the Equipment Reliability Maintenance Team on the Afternoon Shift (4.00pm to 12.00am, Thu to Mon) with a 9 to 12 month Day Shift training period (7:30am to 4:00pm, Mon to Fri). You’ll perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose and repair stoppages, and drive improvements in a high volume manufacturing environment. Requirements include a NZ trade qualification or NZQA equivalent, a Diploma/Degree in Electronic Electro-Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, and 3 to 5 years in automated maintenance with calibration experience; PLC fault finding and CMMS/SAP knowledge are advantageous. About The Opportunity 

We have a unique opportunity for someone looking for a permanent role in our Equipment Reliability Maintenance Team as a Maintenance Technician on the Afternoon Shift (4.00pm – 12.00am, Thursday to Monday)

  

To set you up for success, this role includes a training period of approximately 9-12 months on the Day Shift (7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday)

  

Your primary role will be to carry out scheduled compliance maintenance tasks as well as the diagnosis & repair of unscheduled stoppages in a safe & timely manner and to share your ideas forward on how to improve overall operation productivity and processes in a large manufacturing environment. 

  

About You 

The skills and experience required for the role are: 

  • A NZ trade qualification (or NZQA equivalent) or a Diploma / Degree in Electronic Electro-Mechanical/Electrical Engineering field 
  • Ideally 3 to 5 years' experience or proven track records in automated manufacturing equipment maintenance and electrical instrumentation calibration will be an added advantage. 
  • Relevant work experience in a Medical Industry with High Mixed High Volume (HMHV) manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential 
  • Understanding of measurement and calibration procedures & ability to describe and interpret calibration certificates, labels, and reports 
  • Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatics and hydraulic schematics as well as mechanical specifications will be an advantage 
  • Knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing equipment repair & maintenance with PLCs fault finding skills will be an added advantage 
  • Independent, excellent organizational skills with ability to plan, prioritize projects under work pressure environment 
  • Experience in using software such as SAP, Computerised Maintenance Management System and Solidworks software has an added advantage 
  • Excellent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point presentation 

  

Attention to detail, the ability to be able to work autonomously when required, a methodical and practical approach to fault finding and problem solving, team values, communication skills combined with a strong customer focus are critical for this role.
