Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

Auckland or Christchurch

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team. This role can be based in Auckland or Christchurch, providing the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team delivering projects across New Zealand and the wider APNA region.

 

The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
  • Design HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and associated mechanical systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
  • Undertake site inspections, construction support and design reviews.
  • Deliver projects to programme, budget and quality objectives.
  • Support proposal development and contribute to winning work.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

About you

We're interested in candidates who have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Around 3-7 years' experience within building services consulting.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems.
  • Experience delivering projects across commercial, healthcare, education, transport, aviation or public sector facilities.
  • An understanding of sustainable building design and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Working towards chartership.
