As Head Hostess, you will be the warm and professional face of MR PORTER. You'll manage the front-of-house team, ensure seamless guest experiences, and maintain the uplifting energy that defines our restaurant.
Guest Reception & Ambience
Greet and welcome guests with charm and genuine hospitality
Manage waitlist, reservations, and table flow to ensure smooth seating
Upsell and promote specials, events, and private dining options
Team Leadership
Lead, inspire, coach, and mentor the hostess team
Schedule, coordinate, and communicate daily shifts and service needs
Monitor and support consistent standards for guest service
Operational Oversight
Oversee front desk, telephone, and online reservation systems
Coordinate closely with restaurant, bar, and kitchen teams for guest flow
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, or escalations with composure and care
Maintain presentation standards for host station, menus, and facilities
Administrative Duties
Generate daily reports: reservation summaries, attendance logs, guest feedback
Assist in optimizing reservation policies and front-of-house procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory front-of-house role (fine-dining, upscale restaurant, or high-end hospitality)
Fluent in English; Dutch is a big plus
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Confident multitasker with an upbeat, positive attitude
High organizational standards, attention to detail
Availability to flexibly work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
