Advice for applicants
Lead with your strongest NZ FMCG or national account experience at the top of your resume, and make sure it highlights work with large grocery partners like Woolworths and Foodstuffs. Use a concise “impact” section to show measurable improvements in revenue, share, or category performance that you led or influenced.
Show you can translate insights into action by describing a specific instance where category data or shopper insights drove a strategy or activation that moved the needle for a retailer or category. If you have experience building or guiding a three-year customer strategy, outline the steps you took and the outcomes you achieved.
Be prepared to discuss your P&L ownership and how you forecast revenue, manage trade investments, and track performance against plan. Concrete numbers or percentages help illustrate your ability to balance budgeted targets with real-world market conditions.
Finally, think of a smart question to ask in your interview that reflects this role’s focus on NZ grocery partnerships and growth. You could ask how the team plans to balance category leadership with the needs of major retailers or how they prioritise product innovations across the NZ market over the next few years.
