National Field Sales Manager – General Trade

We are seeking an experienced, people-focused National Field Sales Manager – General Trade to lead execution, capability, and commercial performance across New Zealand’s General Trade channel. This is a high-impact leadership role shaping field standards, customer engagement, and team performance nationwide.

The Opportunity

You will lead a national team of 11 Territory Managers, owning disciplined execution, planning, forecasting, and commercial delivery across all regions. You will drive consistent field standards and ensure strong customer experiences while achieving growth and margin targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor Territory Managers, including regular in-field coaching
  • Build a high-support, high-accountability team culture
  • Lift capability across negotiation, ranging, execution, and commercial acumen
  • Deliver NSV, margin, distribution, and portfolio growth targets
  • Drive consistent merchandising, display, and promotional execution
  • Use insights and tools (including Power BI) to inform decision-making
  • Own field execution strategy for website customer conversion

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven FMCG or field sales leadership experience
  • Strong commercial judgement supported by disciplined planning and analysis
  • Confident negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead change and embed new ways of working
  • Highly organised, resilient, and detail-focused
  • Experience with sales execution tools, CRM, or Power BI
