The role

As Network Access Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role at the heart of Vector’s electricity operations, ensuring planned work on the network is reviewed, validated and coordinated safely, compliantly and with customers front of mind. Working closely with the electricity control room, field service providers and internal stakeholders, you’ll assess network access requests, manage timing and clashes, and apply safety, regulatory and customer‑impact checks before work is approved.

This is a fast‑paced coordination and planning role that suits someone who enjoys working with systems, data and rules, and who takes pride in getting the details right. You’ll rotate across core desk functions, manage work end‑to‑end, and contribute to smooth day‑to‑day operations while supporting continuous improvement across processes and tools.

What makes this role such a great opportunity is the exposure it offers to the live network and control room environment, providing a strong foundation for future career pathways into switching, control room, operational or project roles. You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative and diverse team with strong camaraderie, and have the opportunity to be involved in significant system and operating‑model change as Vector transitions to new platforms and ways of working. Build deep operational capability and a career pathway to match!

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience in electricity distribution, utilities, infrastructure or a similar operational environment, with exposure to network planning, coordination or technical administration
  • Strong systems literacy, with confidence learning and working across multiple operational platforms and processes
  • Analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risk, timing, customer impact and compliance requirements
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in high‑pressure environments and takes ownership of work from start to finish
  • A customer‑focused mindset, able to balance operational delivery with customer outcomes and regulatory obligations.
