UChicago Medicine is seeking a Nurse Associate (RN) for the Digestive Disease team at DCAM Hyde Park, a full-time onsite role in Chicago with daytime hours 8 am to 4:30 pm. The Nurse Associate coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for a defined patient group, liaises among physicians, patients, and families, and supports clinical research while assisting with bedside procedures. Key duties include triaging calls, aiding in clinic and procedure areas, monitoring vital signs under conscious sedation, counseling on medications and lifestyle, coordinating tests and admissions. Requirements: Illinois RN license, minimum two years RN experience, ADN with BSN enrollment within 6–9 months and completion by 30 months, with full tuition reimbursement toward a BSN; BSN preferred. In this role, the Nurse Associate (RN) is responsible for coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for a specified group of patients, and maintains cohesiveness between clinical research, physicians, and patients. The Nurse Associate coordinates physician activities with referring physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, ancillary services, support services, insurance companies and other departments/sections and agencies as needed, and assists the physician with a wide range of activities necessary to manage clinical research programs. In addition, the Nurse Associate functions as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, assists physicians with bedside procedures, and provides patient care in the clinic with the physician as necessary.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
