Office Administrator

Purpose and scope of the role:
Join Tetra Tech’s Water Consulting team in our Glasgow City Centre office as an Office Administrator, supporting a busy and collaborative team of engineers, modellers and data analysts. You will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office, working closely with the Office Manager and wider project teams. Your responsibilities will include reception and visitor management, mailroom support, purchasing, supplier and client invoicing, travel and accommodation bookings, stationery and PPE ordering, fleet support, training administration and project-related coordination.
Your impact in this position:
In the short term, you will play a key role in keeping office operations efficient and compliant, supporting both colleagues and clients. Over time, you will build trusted relationships across the team and contribute to improving processes, service delivery and team coordination. This temporary role is initially available until the end of August, with the possibility of extension.
Core Capabilities:
  • Office administration – Proven experience supporting busy office environments, with the ability to manage day-to-day tasks efficiently and professionally.
  • Invoicing and finance support – Experience with supplier and client invoicing, along with good attention to detail and confidence in handling administrative finance processes.
  • Organisation and initiative – Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workloads and use initiative to solve problems and keep work moving smoothly.
  • Communication and teamwork – Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and provide a high standard of service.
  • IT and confidentiality – Excellent Microsoft Office skills, a discreet and confidential approach, and the ability to handle information responsibly.
Skills, qualifications and experience:
Expected: Previous office-based administrative experience, clear communication skills, excellent IT ability, and a full UK driving licence.
Desirable: Experience supporting line management, coaching or team coordination.
Work patterns and locations:
Based full time in our Glasgow City Centre office. This is an office-based temporary role until the end of September, with the possibility of extension.
