WM NZ seeks an experienced heavy machinery operator for Living Earth in Mangere, Auckland, to run and maintain equipment that turns organic waste into compost and growing media. You will operate wheel loaders and excavators over 10 tonnes, forklifts, tractors, and specialist gear such as trommels and shredders, with pre-start checks and routine maintenance. To succeed you should have at least 3 years of heavy equipment experience, a full NZ licence with W, T and F endorsements (Class 4 desirable), good fitness, and the ability to work autonomously and safely. Demonstrate safety leadership, problem solving, and accuracy in batching recipes; be prepared for outdoor work and longer hours in spring and autumn. About the role
Based in Mangere, Auckland, you will be responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of equipment used to transport, turn, mix, shred and screen organic material in the production of compost and growing media.
This key operational role will require someone who is motivated and diligent with the ability to analyse issues critically and optimise outcomes. It is also essential that you are fully committed to Health and Safety, follow prescribed policies and procedures, drive a positive culture and lead by example.
