This position is bonus eligible up to $5000!

Night shifts at the Southeast Campus

You’ll be part of the overnight leadership that supports youth as they work on skills that help them transition home to their families. The role blends supervision with teaching age-appropriate life, coping and social skills through modeling, counseling and other approaches, and you’ll participate in groups and activities designed to foster growth. You’ll also help run on-site and off-site recreational and educational activities, all while maintaining a safe, supportive environment for both residents and staff. The Home backs new staff with extensive training and real opportunities for long-term professional development.

In practice, the work requires staying engaged through long shifts, guiding youth through moments of challenge, and collaborating with teammates to keep routines consistent and meaningful in a changing treatment setting.

What you’ll need to join the team

  • A valid ID and the ability to pass a CORI/background check
  • The stamina to be physically active for an 8- to 10-hour shift
  • Capability to use verbal de-escalation and, when needed, participate in physical interventions with youth
  • Supervisory experience in a human services, mental health or youth development setting
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Availability to work evenings, holidays and weekend shifts as required
  • MAP certification is preferred

Pay, benefits and practical details

The posted pay range reflects the company's good faith estimate at the time of posting; final compensation depends on factors like experience, education and alignment with internal equity. The Home notes that market conditions and budget considerations may influence final pay decisions, and applicants with more or less directly related experience may land at different points within the range.

The position comes with a robust benefits package and a calendar that includes up to 11 holidays. You’ll have access to health, vision and dental insurance, extensive onboarding and ongoing training, and a tuition reimbursement program worth up to $3,000 per fiscal year. In addition, there is a 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching, employer-paid long-term and short-term disability insurance, and Basic Life and AD&D Insurance, among other benefits.

As for logistics, the role includes overnight hours with the possibility of evening, holiday and weekend work. There may be a need to operate a vehicle and, if required for client transport, to hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record. You may also need access to a personal vehicle for work hours, and if transporting clients, you must keep appropriate liability insurance and current vehicle registration.

Tips to help you stand out for this position

Lead with your supervisory experience in human services or a related youth-focused field right at the top of your resume, and make sure to mention your HS diploma or equivalent. Tie your background to working with youth who have experienced trauma and to settings that require a trauma-informed approach.

Back up your claims with concrete examples of how you’ve used de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, managed physical interventions in a safe, compliant way. Show evidence of multi-tasking in a changing, fast-paced treatment environment and of receiving feedback through supervision or coaching.

Be ready to discuss how you’ve contributed to a safe, supportive environment during overnight or weekend shifts, and how you’ve helped youth engage in on-site and off-site activities that promote growth and skill development.

Have a thoughtful question ready for the interviewer about the program’s trauma-informed care framework and how the team coordinates with the COVE School to support youth outcomes, as well as what training or career development paths exist to advance within the Southeast Campus.
