Paint Correction Detailer
CarmaCarma, a Sydney-based digital pre-owned car dealership, is reshaping how Australians buy and service cars. They manage engineering, buying, marketing and reconditioning all in-house to make the customer experience smoother and more enjoyable. They’re looking for a Paint Correction Detailer to join the Automotive Production team on site in Sydney.
This hands-on, quality-driven role is all about bringing each vehicle to its best through thorough detailing, paint correction and ceramic coating work. If you’ve sharpened your skills in cutting, buffing and polishing and you take pride in a showroom-worthy finish, you’ll feel right at home with Carma’s fast-paced, supportive crew.
Keeping cars gleaming in a busy workshop
Your day-to-day will revolve around applying ceramic coatings and performing paint correction, including steps like compounding, polishing and waxing, to achieve an exceptional finish on each panel.
You’ll also tackle more advanced exterior correction tasks such as heavy cut, buffing, multi-stage polishing, wet sanding and paint touch-ups to remove scratches, swirls and defects.
In addition, you’ll inspect paint imperfections, identify clear coat types and decide the most effective correction approach for every panel, then polish to Carma’s standard and share constructive feedback with teammates to catch defects early.
What you’ll bring to the shop
- You have prior detailing experience with cutting, buffing, polishing and paint correcting, including work on your own cars
- You bring a keen eye for detail and take pride in delivering a flawless finish
- You are motivated to learn and grow your skills
- You’re reliable, punctual and take pride in your work
- You hold a valid NSW driver’s licence

Advice for applicants
Lead your resume with your detailing experience, especially any time you’ve done cutting, buffing and paint correcting, plus any ceramic coating work you’ve completed.
Back up your application with concrete examples of advanced exterior correction, including heavy cut, multi-stage polishing, wet sanding and paint touch-ups, and describe how you audited your own work to ensure the final result met Carma’s standards.
Be prepared in interviews to explain your process for diagnosing paint imperfections and selecting the right correction for each panel, and how you stay aligned with quality while helping teammates improve.
When you ask a question, focus on how the detailing role interacts with the in-house reconditioning team and how Carma defines its finishing standards for panels.
