Rotorua Lakes Council is looking for a skilled Parking Team Leader to join our community safety team. This role is vital to lead the Parking Services Team to achieve effective, efficient customer centric parking services operations and enforcement in Rotorua in accordance with Council’s Parking Policy, Traffic Bylaw and industry best practice. You will coordinate with the Inner-City Safety Manager to facilitate cross functional assistance and deployment of Parking Wardens, Safe City Guardians and the Community Support Officer – Inner City to contribute to organisational Regulatory and Safety outcomes. While delivering clear and effective leadership to the Parking Services team, you will manage the day-to-day relationship and any interactions required with parking product/service suppliers under any resulting contract and escalate matters to the Inner-City Safety Manager where required.
To thrive in this position, you need Proven experience in a leadership role, conflict resolution skills, advanced communication skills, and a minimum of two years in Parking Services or relatable enforcement or compliance role. You need a clean full NZ drivers license and clean police record. Technical knowledge should be made up of Sound knowledge of pertinent legislation such as, Land Transport Act 1998, application of Bylaws, Road User Rule 2004, Local Government Act 2002 and the Health and Safety in work Act 2015.
Sound knowledge of the geographic layout of the CBD, Reserves and surrounds in the Rotorua District, and experience in a local government context are desirable but not necessary.
