Company Description

Welcome to Ability Action Australia!

👋 Welcome to Ability Action Australia, where we help NDIS participants (0–65 years) get more out of life, more independence, more confidence, more growth, more wins.

Every day, we’re in the community helping people do life better… and honestly, it feels pretty epic. 🚀

Job Description

💼 The Role (AKA: The Hero Cape You’ll Be Wearing)

As a Part Time - Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll be a supporter, a strategist, a behaviour detective and occasionally the person who teaches everyone to breathe again after a meltdown.

You’ll be doing things like:
✨ Evaluating, developing & delivering evidence-based support plans
✨ Creating meaningful goals using a positive behaviour support framework
✨ Building capacity in the people who support our participants, families, carers, friends, support workers
✨ Working alongside a brilliant multidisciplinary team
✨ Championing the reduction (and elimination!) of restrictive practices

And, because we like to keep it real
👉 This is NOT a stepping stone job to becoming a psychologist.
👉 It’s a meaningful, legitimate, highly skilled career all on its own.

If you want to be a Psychologist one day? Amazing.
But PBS is not the warm-up act. It’s its own headline show. 🎤💥

🙌 About You

You’ll thrive with us if you:
✔ Live in or very close to Devonport or Wynyard Tasmania
✔ Have a degree in OT, Speech Pathology, Social Work (or Allied Health, preferred)
✔ Have experience creating, implementing & reviewing behaviour support plans
✔ Hold NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner status (suitable, core, proficient, advanced or specialist)
✔ BUT, if you do NOT hold a BSP registration? It's ok, we can help you get there!
✔ Have a genuine passion for disability support
✔ Have experience working with challenging behaviours
✔ Love working with humans, and writing (because, yes, there will be paperwork)
