Silverado Encinitas is hiring care professionals to join a memory care team recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the top 10 Best Workplaces in Aging Services. The organization has been delivering specialized care since 1997 and holds a Certified Great Place to Work designation, underscoring a supportive culture and opportunities for growth. The Encinitas site offers onsite work in a close-knit environment designed for people living with neurodegenerative conditions, and the role is well suited for caregivers who want to make a lasting difference in residents’ daily lives.

The role centers on providing hands-on support to residents dealing with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory-impairing conditions. It calls for a warm, patient approach, reliability, and a knack for building meaningful connections with residents and their families, as well as with teammates. It’s a position for someone who leads with empathy, wants to contribute to a respectful, joyful atmosphere, and finds purpose in helping others live with dignity.

The job is onsite in Encinitas, California, with part-time morning shifts. It appeals to someone who enjoys teamwork and wants to be part of a memory care program that prioritizes quality of life and community spirit.

A day in the life on the memory care floor

In the mornings you’ll assist residents with daily living activities, bathing, dressing, grooming, dining and related routines, while aiming to preserve independence and comfort. You’ll stay engaged with residents, forging genuine relationships and offering a calm, respectful presence that supports memory-impaired individuals throughout their day. Collaboration with families and fellow team members helps keep everyone aligned on each resident’s needs and preferences, so care feels personal rather than procedural. You’ll also contribute to a safe, engaging environment by following established routines and adapting to changing circumstances, and you’ll help keep the nursing team informed by noting changes and updating care records as required.

Alongside these tasks, you’ll participate in a team that values clear communication and consistent support. Maintaining accurate documentation and sharing timely updates is part of how the care team coordinates to deliver reliable, compassionate service each day.

Advice for applicants

Put the caregiving you’ve done up front. If you have experience with daily living activities or memory care, start your resume with those roles and highlight any time you helped with bathing, dressing, grooming, and dining, as well as how you connected with residents and families.

Show evidence of the must-have skills. If you have reliable transportation, English communication proficiency, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks (like lifting up to 50 pounds), call those specifics out with concrete examples or dates of experience. If you’ve worked around animals, mention any roles that relied on that comfort level, too.

Prepare for interviews by sharing real stories. Be ready to talk about how you build relationships with residents and families, how you maintain a respectful environment for people with memory impairments, and how you document and report changes to the nursing team to keep care coordinated.

Ask a targeted question. A smart line is to inquire how care plans are updated and how care records are used to coordinate with clinicians, especially on changes to a resident’s condition or routine. This shows you’re ready to engage with both residents and the team to maintain continuity of care.
