We have an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience working in the residential trades space and understands what good quality work looks like.

You will be solutions focused and able to find issues and come up with ways to fix them. You’ll understand what good quality work looks like and how this can impact the customer experience.

Your ability to build strong and enduring relationships with our sub-contractors will help Switched On Housing deliver on our obligations with our contract partners.

You will be a reliable first point of contact for our trades, and help with any issues they may have. You will be part of a small and passionate team who are committed to bringing new trades into our business and working with them to get things done.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Helping trades meet quality standards
  • Completing audits and making sure work is up to standard
  • Provide mentoring and training to our sub-contractors
  • Preparing audit reports for our client
  • Record and analyse findings of audits to identify trending failures
  • Reviewing trade performance and helping trades meet their deadlines
  • Develop trusting trade relationships and measure success through routine planned review meetings
  • Support inducted trades regarding the use of systems and processes

This is a complex and dynamic environment and this role requires someone who can adapt to change and help coach our trades to deliver quality work all while keeping the Switched On vision at the forefront

Requirements

  • Trade background OR worked extensively within the trade industry
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to use technology and its various applications
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with our trades, client and customers to ensure they understand the vision and outcomes
  • Ability to manage workload to meet strict deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a wider team while being autonomous
  • Ability to regularly travel within the region (Gisborne, Palmerston North or Manawatu if required)
