WM New Zealand seeks a Plant Operator - Loader & Excavator to join a small, dynamic onsite team at the Papakura Transfer Station in Auckland. This full-time role involves operating loaders and excavators, placing waste on-site with precision, and engaging with the public and drivers to enforce health and safety standards while spotting equipment issues. The ideal candidate will hold a valid NZ Class 1 or 2 license, WT licences, proven heavy equipment experience, strong HSE knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently or with a team, plus solid time management. The role offers $27.80 per hour, permanent hours with a minimum 45 per week and weekends off. Job Description

You will be responsible for handling the placement of waste on-site, ensuring precision and adherence to established procedures. Interact with public and drivers to guarantee strict compliance with health and safety protocols.  Identify and report any machinery potential problems.  General housekeeping. Physically fit.  A can-do attitude with a good work ethic.  Demonstrate that you are reliable and dependable.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with the following skills and attributes:

• Valid NZ driving license Class 1 or Class 2.
• WT Licences (wheels/tracks).
• Ability to interact with a vast range of customers in a polite and clear manner
• Proven experience in operating heavy equipment.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of workplace Health and Safety practices.
• Mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong work ethics and exceptional time management skills.
