In this role, you’ll prepare both live and non-live sporting events for Disney’s linear TV channels and ensure Disney+ viewers in various markets receive the right language and localization, including events like the UWCL and La Liga. You’ll be the keeper of the transmission flow, coordinating all incoming and outgoing lines and acting as the spider in the distribution network to keep broadcasts on track. You’ll work closely with worldwide MCRs such as Gravity Media (EMG), BT-Tower, SES, and Bristol, ensuring broadcasts follow the right program guidelines and instructions, and you’ll oversee that the right content lands at the right destination, at the right time, across multiple platforms and markets. Creating On Air graphics like channel bugs, banners and crawls is also part of channel preparations.
Flexibility matters here, so working evenings and weekend shifts should be an integral and comfortable part of the role.
A day in the playout hub
You’ll be the central point of contact for all distribution activities, coordinating the end-to-end flow of content from ingest to transmission. In practice that means you’ll manage On Air graphics for playout and be present during live broadcasts and major projects in the playout environment. You’ll stay current with the latest technical developments and innovations in the field to keep operations smooth and up to standard, while keeping a clear view of how content traffic moves across the system to meet timing and quality requirements.
Part of the daily routine is maintaining tight coordination with external facilities and partners, ensuring that every live event adheres to program guidelines and that every transmission line booking is handled accurately. The role also involves tracking distribution costs and handling other accountability items as they arise, so you’ll need to stay organized and proactive in how you allocate resources and manage schedules.
Must-have requirements
- Three to five years of hands-on work in TV productions
- Strong time management capabilities
- Clear, effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to meet tight deadlines without undue stress
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- Experience working with flexible and irregular hours
Nice-to-haves
- Experience operating in a playout or master control environment
- Familiarity with coordinating with external broadcast partners or facilities
- Knowledge of On Air graphics creation and branding tasks (bugs, banners, crawls)
- Exposure to multilingual localization or content delivery for streaming platforms
