About the role   

 We currently have a vacancy for a Machine Operator on PM2.

The MO will work within Essity safety standards to operate the machine equipment and complete processes efficiently. You will understand the operation and equipment, what it does/how it works, and be able to perform simple cleaning tasks and cloth changes.

The shift pattern involves 12-hour shifts, working two nights, followed by a 24-hour break, then 2 days, followed by a three-day break. The role will be covered by the Pulp & Paper Workers CEA.

What you will Do  

  • Operating equipment to standard operating procedures, adjusting as necessary
  • Performing day-to-day duties safely and efficiently
  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and problem solving as required
  • Keeping working areas clean and organized and completing required documentation

If you are successful, you will be required to partake in a training plan developed by the Supervisor with the teams' assistance.

About You

You will have solid experience in an operating role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role and requires a strong commitment to safe working practices. You will ideally have some mechanical aptitude or at least an affinity for and interest in the way equipment works.

Experience/attributes required

  • Be an enthusiastic team player.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Have an interest in learning continuously, especially new technology.
  • Safety conscious, physically fit, and reliable.

You will need the right to work in New Zealand and to be happy to complete a police check and pre-employment report and drug & medical assessment as part of the recruitment process.
